Blackhawks Celebrate Home Opener

Blackhawks Defeat Blues 3-2
10/6/2026 • Chris Jacobus

The Chicago Blackhawks gave their fans plenty to celebrate Tuesday night, opening the home portion of their season with a hard-fought 3–2 victory over the St. Louis Blues at the United Center.

But the game was about much more than two points in the standings.

Before the puck dropped, the Blackhawks proudly raised the DCHL Stanley Cup championship banner, commemorating their 2025–26 DCHL Stanley Cup championship.

The championship celebration set the tone for an emotional night at the United Center. With the Stanley Cup taking center stage, the Blackhawks then took to the ice determined to give their fans another reason to celebrate.

And they delivered.

Chicago battled St. Louis from the opening faceoff, matching the Blues' physical style and creating chances throughout the night. The Blackhawks found the back of the net three times with goals from Sam Reinhart and two from Alex DeBrincat, while their defensive effort and goaltending held off a late push from St. Louis. Conn Smythe winner Joey Daccord got the win stopping 29 of 31 shots.

The victory made the championship celebration even sweeter, turning the home opener into a night the Chicago faithful won't soon forget.

From raising the DCHL Stanley Cup banner to celebrating a thrilling win over a division rival, Chicago sent a clear message: the celebration of last season's championship is over, and a new season has begun.

The Blackhawks now look to carry that momentum forward as they continue their quest for another championship.
