For the first time in DCHL history, the Arizona Coyotes are headed to the Western Conference Finals after defeating the Minnesota Wild 4-2. The Coyotes leapt out to a commanding 3-0 series lead, before the Wild clawed their way back into the series, ultimately falling in game six. Valeri Nichushkin opened the scoring halfway through the 1st period, stemming from a clean face off win by Adam Lowry, who later scored the series clinching goal in the 3rd period. The defence was phenomenal for the Coyotes, allowing only 21 shots on net and blocking nine, giving Vezina candidate Jake Oettinger, an easier job in net. Arizona now waits to face the winner of the Edmonton Calgary series, after the Flames battled back from an 0-3 series deficit to force game seven.
