After much anticipation, Jake Oettinger is your new franchise leader in wins and games played for the Utah Hockey Club. Long time netminder, Fredrik Andersen was the previous leader in both categories with 102 wins in 173 games played.
Oettinger tied the record for wins against the Seattle Kraken with a 5-0 victory and then lost his next two starts against Edmonton and Buffalo, where he passed Andersen with his 174th game played.
Playing at home, Oettinger had extra motivation to give the fans what they wanted, and he didn’t disappoint. Oettinger turned aside 25 of 26 shots in a spectacular 5-1 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
With a Vezina and Jennings Trophy already to his name, Oettinger will look to continue his legacy with the franchise and now sets his sights on a Stanley Cup.
