After a brief visit to the top of the western conference, the Oilers find themselves falling down the standings after losing their 3rd game in a row today, to the struggling Devils. After losing their first 2 games to start the season, Edmonton went a respectable 10-4, and in the meanwhile picked up star goaltender Connor Hellebuyck. It seems that not even Hellebuyck can seem to help the Oilers find the win column after their 10-4 run. Today's game saw backup goalie Casey DeSmith make his 2nd start since the team acquired Hellebuyck 10 games ago. Winning his last start, and only seeing 1 goal get past him in today's shutout loss, raises the question. Who will start the next game against the high flying Islanders? Time will tell.
