The New Jersey Devils are your Stanley Cup Champions

Finally got it done!

The New Jersey Devils have finally done it!  It was a season to remember with some incredible highs and lows, some serious scares, and some flat out amazing rides! 

I'm so thankful to Ian for running the sim and the rest of the BoG who make the league run.  This little hockey community is so much fun to be a part of, and it truly feels great winning when there's such great competition all the way up and down the league roster.  I'll remember this season for a long time, but on to the next one!

Some Achievements during the season for New Jersey:

• Nico Hischier became the Devils player with the most game winning goals in franchise history (23) passing Matt Duchene, who also broke the record in the same season (22).
• Ilya Sorokin broke the franchise shutouts record held by Ben Bishop and crushed it (17).
• Nico Hischier broke the game winning goals in the playoffs record for New Jersey (6).
• Nico Hischier moved into 7th all-time in playoff points in DCHL history (81).
• Ilya Sorokin moved into 6th all-time in playoff wins in DCHL history (32).
• Nico Hischier had the 10th best offensive performance in playoff history (25).
• Ilya Sorokin had the 8th best goaltending performance in playoff history (16-3-5 2.28 91.93)
• The Devils won their 2nd Eastern Conference Championship in franchise history.
• The Devils won their 1st Stanley Cup in franchise history.
• Nico Hischier will be the first Devils player to win a trophy that I can remember since I started in the DCHL all those years ago.  He will get the Conn Smythe!

Looking forward to the draft and some trade negotiations.  New Jersey is in the market to make some adjustments at offense.  We will try to repeat!
