Blackhawks Capture DCHL Stanley Cup in Historic Championship Run

CHICAGO, IL — June 2026 — The Chicago Blackhawks are DCHL champions!.

In front of a roaring sellout crowd at the United Center, the Blackhawks defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 4-0 in Game 6 of the DCHL Stanley Cup Final, capturing their first championship under GM Chris Jacobus and igniting celebrations throughout the city of Chicago.

Led by captain Adrian Kempe, who lifted the Stanley Cup amid a shower of red, black, and white confetti, the Blackhawks completed one of the most remarkable turnaround stories in league history. Just three seasons ago, the club was rebuilding. Today, they sit atop the DCHL hockey world.

"This group never stopped believing," Kempe said while hoisting the Cup above his head. "We fought for every inch of ice all season. To bring a championship back to Chicago means everything."

Kempe led by example throughout the playoffs, recording 8 goals and 11 assists while playing in every situation imaginable. His leadership and clutch performances earned praise from teammates and opponents alike.

The championship run was fueled by stellar goaltending from Joey Daccord, who delivered another standout performance in the deciding game, earning his 2nd shutout of the playoffs. Daccord finished the postseason with a .933 save percentage and a 1.87 GAA, cementing himself as the Conn Smythe MVP winner.

"Joey gave us confidence every night," head coach Paul Maurice said. "When things got tough, he was there. Joey and our incredible defense was a huge reason we're standing here as champions."

The Blackhawks finished the regular season with a 48-26-8 record before dispatching the Minnesota Wild, Dallas Stars, and Vancouver Canucks on their path to the Final.

As the final seconds ticked away, players spilled onto the ice while fans chanted, "We want the Cup!" The celebration lasted well into the night as fan celebrated in the streets chanting "Lets Go Hawks!"

The Stanley Cup is back in Chicago. What an incredible year!
