Utah Mammoth 2025-26 Under 23 Rankings

September Edition
9/29/2025 • Trevor Sifton

Forwards:

Not much needs to be said about the players in the first and second spot on this list. Both players play important roles on their respective teams and are huge pieces of Utah’s future. I didn’t have them on last year’s ranking because we know who they are, but the trend appears to be under 23 so I’ll add them on one last time.

Jacob Battaglia recently signed his ELC and was named Captain of the Kingston Frontenacs in what is likely his last season in the CHL. Battaglia’s upside is that of a top 6 winger, who has a hard and accurate shot. It’s possible that he will have an opportunity to play some professional games near the end of the season.

Jako His-Wozniak saw his ranking fall in the 2025 draft, but that didn’t stop Utah from grabbing him with a late second. Ihs-Wozniak saw his points per game increase in J20 Nationell and is expected to start in the SHL this year at 18 years old. He has one of the best shots in his draft class, and Utah is hoping his exposure to a professional league will help accelerate his development.

Max Westergard was selected late in the 2025, likely because of his lack of size. Westergard ended up playing a full-time role in the SHL playoffs after putting up 50 points in 41 games in J20. He was also a few weeks shy of being eligible for the 2026 draft, making him one of the youngest players in his draft class.

Defence:

Tristan Luneau continues to be the top defensive prospect for the Utah Mammoth. In his first full pro season, Luneau put up almost a point per game in the AHL playing for the San Diego Gulls. He will likely be one of the first call ups for the Ducks based on last year performance.

Henry Mews was the first CHL player to transition over to the NCAA, opting to play for the University of Michigan. The 2025-26 season will be intriguing to watch for prospect development, with several high profile CHL player moving over to the NCAA.

Patryk Kubek and Matus Lisy are both undrafted players, but Utah opted to select the pair of Slovakian defencemen hoping they found something that NHL scouts didn’t see. Both player made the jump this year to the CHL, hoping that they are seen by NHL franchises in the hopes of getting drafted.

Goalies:

Philip Svedebäck leads the list of goaltender prospects for the Utah Mammoth. Entering his fourth and likely last year in the NCAA, the expectation is that he will sign his ELC with the NHL Boston Bruins, who currently have an issue with their goaltender pipeline.

Mans Goos was the only goaltender drafted by Utah in the 2025 DCHL draft. Goos has the size that NHL teams are looking for, but make no mistake, Måns Goos is a raw project that will require time and patience for him to develop into an NHL netminder.
